The Yobe State Authority is making
plans to lift the ban on motorcycles, a decision which came into effect
in the peak of the Boko Haram insurgency in the state, the Special
Adviser on Press Affairs and Information to Governor Ibrahim Gaidam,
Mallam Abdullahi Bego disclosed.
In a statement made available to reporters on Saturday, by Bego,
Gaidam was considering lifting the ban on the use of motorcycles in
Potiskum town and some other major towns in state to allow single
individuals to ride motorcycles again.
He said, “A statement will be issued to this effect very soon after the completion of a review currently being undertaken by security agencies in the state.”
